GAVIN MURAI // Reckon Shop, Formidably Impressed
Gavin Murai, born and raised on the south shore of Oahu, works under the name Reckon Shop, a multi-disciplinary creative initiative that draws inspiration from an upbringing in the Islands, an affinity with local surf culture, and travels throughout the world.
Since its inception, Reckon Shop is constantly evolving through its clients and medium. With an emphasis on an “analog, then digital” creative process with each endeavor, projects range from brand identity, collateral creation, to large scale mural work.
With an eagerness to further knowledge and capabilities, Reckon Shop setup shop as one of the original tenants of Lana Lane Studios in 2012, then began working in cooperation with F.A.D.S. ( FITTED ART & DEVELOPMENT STUDIO ) in 2015. In 2016, Reckon Shop partnered with Jiwa Jiwa Press to form Formidably Impressed, a letterpress greeting card company with a typography based aesthetic. Together, they service and distribute to a growing client and stockist list locally and abroad.
