The street art festival POW! WOW! Hawaii has partnered with Hawaiian Airlines on an exciting new project that brings a creative touch to the airline’s ground service vehicles. In a press release, Kamea Hadar, co-lead director of POW! WOW! Hawaii, stated, “This project aims to highlight how Hawaiian Airlines bridges cultures and people, giving Hawaiian Airlines employees and passengers alike a visual representation of the hub of culture that is modern Hawaii and how Hawaiian Airlines helps to facilitate these cultural exchanges.”

This new project will ask street artists to paint vehicles, which include “service trucks, push-backs, plane tugs, baggage belt loaders, and baggage carts,” with a distinctly Hawaiian aesthetic. The project aligns with POW! WOW! Hawaii’s goals as an organization, which frequently strives to blend Hawaiian culture and art.
